There is nothing quite like watching the sun rise over the Dubai desert from 4,000 feet in the air, suspended in a wicker basket carried by a giant hot air balloon. The Hot Air Balloon Flight is one of the most serene, photogenic, and unforgettable experiences available in Dubai.
Your journey begins with a pre-dawn pickup from your hotel (around 4:30 AM). You'll drive to the launch site in the Margham desert — about 45 minutes from Dubai — and watch as the crew inflates the balloon against the dark sky. As you rise, the first light of dawn reveals the red dunes, camel farms, and distant mountains.
The flight lasts 45-60 minutes, depending on weather conditions, drifting with the wind over the desert landscape. You'll spot oryx, gazelles and camels from above. After landing, you're treated to a Bedouin breakfast at camp, plus a falconry demonstration and a certificate signed by your pilot. Yes — hot air ballooning is one of the safest forms of aviation. Our operators use GCAA-licensed balloons maintained daily. Pilots have 1000+ flight hours. All flights cancel if wind conditions aren't perfect.
Many of our guests are nervous at first — but ballooning feels completely different from skyscrapers or planes. The motion is slow, gentle, and silent. Most acrophobic guests describe it as calming once airborne.
Each passenger should be under 120kg for standard flights. Pregnant women past the first trimester and children under 5 are not permitted for safety reasons.
Wind or rain occasionally cancels flights (called at 9 PM the night before or 4 AM on the day). Full refund or free reschedule offered — no questions asked.
