Journey to the edge of the Empty Quarter — massive dunes at Moreeb (300m), ancient palm oasis, and traditional Bedouin heritage. Real desert, real adventure.
The Liwa Oasis Desert Day Trip takes you into the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) — the largest continuous sand desert in the world. This is the real desert, far from Dubai's tourist routes: massive dunes, ancient oases, palm groves, and traditional Bedouin villages.
The oasis of Liwa is 250km from Dubai, on the edge of the Empty Quarter. You'll drive through the dramatic Moreeb Dune (one of the world's tallest sand dunes at 300m) and visit the Liwa Oasis with its ancient falaj irrigation system still in use today. The area is famous for its palm groves, camel farms, and traditional mud-brick fortresses.
You'll also visit the Liwa Date Festival grounds (seasonal), the traditional Qasr Al Hosn fort (a restored desert palace), and enjoy a desert dune picnic with views of the endless sand sea.
Perfect for photographers, adventure seekers, and anyone wanting to experience the raw, untouched beauty of the Empty Quarter.

"Liwa is a different planet. The dunes are massive — Moreeb Dune is breathtaking. Empty Quarter lives up to its name. Worth the long drive."
"We did the overnight option — sleeping under the stars in the Empty Quarter was surreal. Way better than the Dubai desert safaris. Real desert."
