Tour Overview
Ever wanted to be the captain of your own boat? The Self-Drive Boat Tour gives you exactly that — a small, safe, easy-to-operate motorboat that you drive yourself, following a licensed guide in a lead boat through some of Dubai's most beautiful waterways.
You don't need any boating experience or license. Our guide gives a full safety briefing and hands-on operation lesson, then leads you on a 90-minute cruise around the Marina's skyscraper canyon, past the Palm Jumeirah's luxury villas, and near the Burj Al Arab. Two-way radio communication keeps you connected with the guide at all times.
The boats are 4-6 metre RIBs (rigid inflatable boats) with a 40-horsepower engine — easy to handle, super safe, and perfect for adults and families. Each boat seats 2-4 people, so everyone can share the driving (or one person can captain the whole time).

Yes — you're the captain! Our licensed guide travels in a lead boat ahead of you, showing the route via two-way radio. You follow at a safe distance and control the throttle & steering fully.
Very safe. The boats are small (4-6m), easy to handle, and the route is in calm marina waters. The guide is always within radio contact and can assist immediately if needed.
Yes — kids of all ages welcome. Life jackets in all sizes are provided. Children under 12 must remain seated while the boat is moving.
No problem — the briefing covers everything. If you're nervous, the guide can briefly take over. Most first-timers get comfortable within 10 minutes.
Swimming is not permitted from self-drive boats for safety reasons. Book a private yacht charter if you want a swimming stop.
