Share in the beauty of Ramadan — traditional Iftar feast in a majlis, lantern-lit walk through Al Fahidi & warm Q&A with Emirati hosts. All faiths welcome.
Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic calendar — a time of fasting from dawn to sunset, spiritual reflection, and community. Our Ramadan Cultural Experience invites non-Muslim guests to share in this beautiful tradition in a respectful, welcoming way.
The evening begins with an explanation of Ramadan — why Muslims fast, what the daily rhythm looks like, and how it feels to break the fast. You'll then experience a traditional Iftar (the sunset meal that breaks the fast) in a majlis tent, beginning with dates & water, followed by a full Emirati feast — lamb ouzi, machboos, hareess, luqaimat, and traditional Ramadan juices like jallab & karkade.
After dinner, you'll walk through the lantern-lit streets of Al Fahidi, visit a mosque for the Taraweeh prayer (observe only), and end with suhoor — the pre-dawn meal — for those who wish to stay late. Hosts share personal stories about what Ramadan means to them and answer all questions openly.
